Volunteer Opportunities
Who are we?
We are wonderful citizens of all ages, from teens through golden oldies. We are a few tough guys and many sweetheart women from all walks of life. We number about 40 adults and 20 teens. We are here just because we want to be a part of something good and because we have found that in giving, we receive!
What do we do?
Our active volunteers contribute from 4 - 10 hours per week. Our volunteers are willing to assist in any area of the hospital – not to replace employees, but to help them do a better job and to help make life a little easier for patients, visitors and employees.
The hospital gift shop is managed by the volunteer staff. They have it stocked for every occasion. The gift shop includes an inventory of women’s clothing, gifts, kitchen gadgets, candles, greeting cards, infant wear and many miscellaneous items.
In addition, our volunteers contribute financially to AllianceHealth Clinton by generously giving thousands of dollars each year to help fund much needed equipment for our hospital. We also award scholarships to deserving hospital employees who wish to further their education. Tax deductible donations can be made through the volunteers to help fund hospital and hospice projects.
Information desk volunteers escort patients and visitors to and from all parts of the hospital, answer telephones, stuff and label envelopes, distribute from department to department, and deliver balloons, flowers, cards, etc.
Our volunteers supply baby caps and t-shirts for our newborns. Coloring books and crayons are available for young children. Stuffed animals are available to young children to ease their fears during a visit to our emergency room.
The volunteers are a sponsor for the Phillips LifeLine program. We cover four surrounding counties. The program assists the elderly just by simply wearing a button. The button is pushed when help is needed. We also have auto alert buttons that detect a fall automatically. For more information on this program, contact the volunteer director, Debbie Matz at (580) 323-8394.
Our active volunteers give approximately 9,000 hours of unpaid service to AllianceHealth Clinton each year.
